As an electrical engineer 4, the incumbent will be independently responsible for the design, construction, and field deployment of specialized electrical systems for oceanographic, marine robotics, marine renewable energy, and acoustic instrumentation. As a subject matter expert, this position will design standard and unique tasks that will be varied and may range from custom circuit boards to extremely complex data acquisition systems, and unusual technical problems that require specialized expertise. Special emphasis will be placed on the design of electrical systems for long-term operation in the ocean.

The Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a fulltime Travel Operations Compliance Analyst to steward the Laboratory’s Travel Operations. The Environmental and Information Systems department at the Applied Physics Laboratory is recruiting for a full-time Grants and Contracts Manager. EIS is the largest research unit at the APL, and the Grants and Contracts Manager will be solely responsible for full-cycle grant and contract administration for the Autonomous Systems and Controls research program. This program has 20 Principal Investigators with varied research projects, and the incumbent selected will assist in all aspects of research administration, including financial reporting of grants, contracts, and subawards. The EIS department head relies on this position to answer all key questions and manage issues related to research administration.
