If you do not currently work at UW, you will apply to posted Staff positions using the UW’s Jobs page. The application process is generally broken down into three phases:
- Phase 1: Application
The Jobs page will assist you in creating a Workday Recruiting account, and developing an application profile that reflects all of your experience and education. In addition, you are able to upload documents such as cover letters, resumes, or CVs. How to Apply offers step-by-step instructions and videos. - Phase 2: Interview
If selected as an interview candidate, you will be notified by the hiring manager to schedule a follow-up interview(s). - Phase 3: Post-Interview
If selected after the interview(s), you will be required to complete a Sexual Misconduct Disclosure and thorough background check.

Applications for staff positions are first reviewed by UW’s Human Resources team, then are released to APL for further consideration by the hiring manager for the position. If you don’t hear back right away, don’t be worried! Timeframes for recruitments do vary, especially when considering that many of our hiring managers from research departments can be conducting fieldwork for extended periods of time.
